OUR COMMITMENT TO OUR CUSTOMERS
SDBIC has established practices, procedures and systems designed to protect the privacy and security of Personal Information we collect in the course of insuring your safe deposit box contents and is in compliance with all applicable federal and state privacy and information security laws. Personal Information means any information that could be used to identify you personally, the existence or amount of coverage being carried or the contents in your safe deposit box whether obtained directly by SDBIC or from your financial institution. We train our employees to safeguard customer information and require them to sign confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements.
INFORMATION WE COLLECT
Your privacy and confidentiality with respect to the contents of your safe deposit box contents is a paramount concern to SDBIC. We collect only the relevant information needed to insure your safe deposit box contents including:
Date of Birth
Financial Institution where your safe deposit box is located
The last two digits on your safe deposit box
We will never ask for your social security number. We do not do any type of credit or background check or otherwise obtain Personal Information from any third parties.
If you gave us your e-mail address, SDBIC may use it from time to time to notify you about your coverage, to confirm information or transactions or to solicit feedback about our service and product. SDBIC will not use Personal Information to solicit you in connection with any other product or service. If you are a policyholder you may log in to your account at safedepositboxinsurance.com click on “Update Email Preferences” and choose the level of communication you would like to receive from us or to correct or change your Personal Information. If you have not yet registered online, you will need to enroll to update your email preferences or to change your coverage.
We will share Personal Information with our underwriting carriers for the sole purpose of binding your insurance coverage. We may share Personal Information with companies that perform services in connection with the processing of your insurance such as credit card companies or claims administrators, or as otherwise permitted or required by law. Account and credit card numbers are shared only with companies that process payments on behalf of SDBIC. All third parties that perform services for us are required to safeguard Personal Information and may use it only in connection with performing those services.
We may share certain information on an aggregate no name basis with state insurance departments, actuarial firms or loss bureaus.
We will not sell your Personal Information to third parties.
In the event of a loss, claim payments are not reported to any federal or state agency and are treated as Personal Information under this Policy. Personal Information obtained from potential or former customers is safeguarded to the same extent as current customer Personal Information.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR WEB SITE USERS
SDBIC may place certain embedded computer codes on our pages to help identify how our customers were referred to our site. We may use that information to track how many customers actually purchase our insurance. These embedded codes do not capture any Personal Information other than your URL.
