Distraction Thieves Strike Boca Bank; Safety Deposit Boxes Broken into at Chase Bank

BOCA RATON, Fla. —Boca Raton police are searching for thieves who pulled off a major distraction theft inside a Chase bank.

Police confirm the incident happened on April 25 at 3901 Federal Highway.

The thieves entered the bank during business hours posing as potential customers.

The police report said one suspect distracted employees while another man pried open safety deposit boxes and stole expensive items.

WPBF reached several victims Monday afternoon.

They said the thieves took diamond rings, bracelets, watches and priceless heirlooms.

A spokeswoman for Chase Bank released a statement on Monday:

“We have reached out to affected customers and are working closely with authorities on the investigation.”
