Texas Bank and Trust Canton Branch Damaged in Fire

An investigation is currently underway as to the cause of an early evening fire that heavily damaged the Texas Bank and Trust branch building in downtown Canton, according to a statement from bank officials. There were no reported injuries.

At approximately 6:30pm, the TB&T branch located at 231 East Tyler Street caught fire at the southern end of the building. The remainder of the building sustained significant smoke damage as a result. All areas of the building and the bank property within remain secure.

The East Tyler Street  location will remain closed pending the completion of the investigation. In the interim, Texas Bank and Trust customers may utilize the bank’s second Canton branch, located at 330 E. Highway 243, for drive in banking and lobby services. Night drop box service is also available at this location. Texas Bank and Trust staff are on site at this time to ensure there is no interruption of banking service for customers.

Should customers travel outside of the immediate area, they are welcomed to stop by any TB&T branch location in the region for assistance. A complete listing of branches may be found on the bank’s website. Click here for branch locations.
